By downloading or using Fieldnotes (“the App”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. We've kept this as short and readable as possible.

The service

Fieldnotes provides travel information for reference purposes. Guides include visa information, safety tips, cultural advice, currency data, and more. While we work hard to keep everything accurate and up to date, travel conditions change constantly. Always verify critical information (especially visa requirements and safety advisories) with official government sources before traveling.

Purchases

Fieldnotes offers a one-time “All Access” purchase ($6.99) that unlocks all country guides forever. This is a non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple. Refund requests should be directed to Apple through their standard process.

Free tier

Free users get one country guide with no time limit and no feature restrictions. The free guide is fully functional and identical to paid guides.

Community tips

When you submit a tip, you grant Fieldnotes a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display it within the app. You retain ownership of your content. We may remove tips that are inaccurate, offensive, or spam. Don't submit content that isn't yours.

Affiliate links

Some recommendations include affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These are clearly marked as “Recommended” in the app. We only recommend services we'd actually use ourselves.

Limitation of liability

Fieldnotes is a travel reference tool, not a substitute for official government travel advice. We are not liable for any losses, injuries, or inconveniences arising from reliance on information in the app. Travel involves inherent risks — always exercise personal judgment and check official sources for safety-critical decisions.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll note the update date above.
